Product Details

Lots of soaps and body wash found on the market use petroleum byproducts, as known as mineral oils, as the key ingredients. Many of the manufacturers even mass produce their products with chemicals that won’t do any good to the skin, such as foaming agents- to make more bubbles, solidifiers- to make firmer soaps, preservatives- to keep soaps created in prior years from going bad, and/or artificial fragrance- to make the scent last longer. These cleansing products not only won’t clean the skin well, but  it can also make our skin condition worse and worse---lowering our skin’s natural defensive and healing abilities over time. In addition, the ingredients in those cleansing products on the market not only are not natural enough.  Their cleansing ability and moisturization absolutely cannot compare to handmade soaps that use natural oils. There are lots of different handmade soaps available on the market but not all of them are the same.. The key ingredients in a good handmade soap consist of traditional cold processing techniques, high quality oils and natural materials, and a skillful soap making technique; All three ingredients are essential to making a quality handmade soap and must be done in conjunction.

A high quality handmade soap has many benefits, including:

1. The natural moisturizing factor has higher glycerin ratio
When oil and base react, glycerin and soap are produced. The soap is to deep clean the skin, and the glycerin is to protect and keep the skin moist.  This is a great combination that gives you two functions at a time. Glycerin is a very precious natural moisturizer that also helps to soften the cuticles, that’s why a lot of the expensive skincare products add glycerin to achieve their effect. And that is also why our loyal users all agree that natural handmade soaps have great results on protecting their skin and set them free from the dryness!

2. Use natural oils
Handmade soaps usually use natural oils such as olive oils, coconut oils and etc. Olive oil contains Squalene, tocopherol, polyphenol, chlorophyll and etc. Squalene is especially important because human skin layer contains around 10% of the Squalene, which is an important factor for keeping the moisture. Olive oil also has high contents of vitamins, minerals, and protein. These contents can moisturize and heal the skin; the soaps made will foam up better, and the texture is much smoother and highly moisturizing. Coconut oil contains Lauric Acid, which is unique fatty acid found in breast milk. The soaponified coconut oil has high foaming and cleansing ability; combine with olive oil, sweet almond oil, and canola oil, the soaps made have smooth texture with very good cleansing power. The unique cold process method is done in a fairly low temperature environment to keep all the nutrients in the oils.  This is what makes the soap fine and perfect for the skin.

3. Handmade soaps use more natural ingredients
A high quality handmade soap uses much more natural ingredients, such as herbal powder and herbal infused oils, mineral sludge, fruit and vegetable powder, oat powder, and milk, to polish the appearance and effects. Consumers can also feel the hard work of a soap maker by feeling these extra ingredients. The major difference between a handmade soap and a chemically mass produced soap is that the handmade soaps are usually done in the household kitchen, or studio. Handmade soaps use much more natural ingredients.  Consumers can use it without other health concerns.

4. Bio-degradable, save the earth
Handmade soaps not only are gentle to the skin, they are also environmentally friendly. Handmade soaps are different than the chemically made detergents. When it mixes with the water, it degrades, and it will become safe to the living organisms in the river and ocean. The chemically made detergents on the market take a long time to degrade, and some of the toxins will never get degraded. Also, over the time, the rivers and the oceans become polluted with all the toxins. Not only the environment gets sick, our next generations will need to endure all those toxins as well. Using handmade soap not only can help your skin health, it will also set the environment free from pollution, which is very desirable in all cases!

Breast Milk Handmade Soap uses cold process techniques to preserve all the precious oils and nutrients inside the breast milk. With a little addition of Lanolin Oil, the breast milk soap gets a higher moisturizing level, and it is very suitable for dry skin. Lanolin Oil is also very desirable for sensitive skin, and it also has great results in treating the diaper rashes. In addition, we include the sweet orange essential oil to provide you a light and sweet sensation of the refreshing scent. Background Story

To Nutrition Consultant, Jessica, making soaps is nothing more than nature!. Since 2004, Jessica has started soap making projects as personal interest; she spent her time after work concentrating on making and formulating natural soaps. After times of trying and researching, she made a few recipes that can accommodate difference skin types. Then she started giving them out to friends and families around her, especially her girlfriends that had sensitive skins. By holding onto her goodies sharing thoughts, Jessica started her soap making blog in 2008 to share her experiences and thoughts, and she also made a lot of friends who loved her handmade soaps!

A good feedback for a dish not only depends on the skills of the chef, but also depends on the quality of the ingredients he/she had used. It is the same to a handmade soap, not only the uniqueness of the recipe and the skill of performing the process are important, the quality of the ingredients are also the key points that make a great handmade soap. To make the highest quality soaps, Jessica chose only the natural and organic oils, and she even grew her own herbs in her organic garden. She often freshly picked out the herbs and brewed for the extracts, mixed them with the natural soap base from the sea water, and then also added in natural good oils to make the best soaps. Her soaps were made with cold process technique, which the whole process was performed under a fairly low temperature to keep all nutrients fresh. She insisted to made small batches at a time, so she can keep every single of them in the best quality and condition. Usually it takes 2~3 hours for a single batch to be done, and another 4~6 weeks for the drying so the soaps can be gentle and desire for all usage. Although making soaps is very time consuming and complicated, but Jessica never lost interest doing it; because during the process, she can enjoy all 3 stages of the soap making experience!

Stage 1. It is very delightful making the soaps. Because you have to be very concentrated during the process, it will take away all the thoughts and unhappiness. Put on some music at this time, you will then intentionally become happy!

Stage 2. It is very exciting when it comes to the cutting time. Jessica felt the fulfillment after she saw her soaps. It is just like welcoming a new born baby, there’s excitement and happiness that words just cannot explain! That’s why Jessica has been calling her handmade soaps “soap babies”!

Stage 3. It is very blissful when using the handmade soaps! Because every single bar brings you the highest quality and best sensation, you can feel the happiness just by thinking of this! The smoothness and tenderness after using are unique and refreshing, it feels like the whole body can breathe easily! There’s no tightness or greasiness afterwards, and you don’t even need to use any skin moisturizer! Handmade soaps are also good for facial cleansing, you don’t have to worry that the chemical will stay on your face, because there’s none! Jessica used it for around half year, and her skin cleared up very well! Such a good quality skincare soap with affordable prices, of course it is blissful!

Jessica’s handmade soaps became such a blast was a total surprise! She had made an insane record that all 400 of the soaps were sold out in 2 days! Because of the complication of the process and the time required, Jessica’s handmade soaps are constantly out of stock. Many of our local consumers in California would place down the order even before the soaps are ready for sale! Thus, for all our value customers, Jessica will post all her soap news on her blog. Don’t miss any news!

Jessica thought her handmade soaps had brought herself and many others a natural healthy skin tone, they would also make life more delightful and colorful! Please visit Jessica’s blog to check out more beautiful soaps!

Q&A

Q1. How do I store my natural handmade soaps?
High quality handmade soap are fully soaponified, so there will be no problem for storing over times. However, the natural essential oils that are used will degrade throughout the time, so we recommend to use in within one year. Some recipes provide better moisturization; therefore, more precious oils are added additionally. If there is rancid smell occurs, please stop using it.

Q2. How to choose handmade soaps?
It doesn’t matter if you’re making choices on foods or skincare; before you purchase, make sure to read the ingredient list thoroughly to avoid petrol byproducts or artificial ingredients. The traditional low temperature soaps are usually made in the household kitchen with the handiest tools. Ingredient wise, they are most natural and organic, and they will make no harm to your health! Those transparent soaps that are easily seen on the market are usually made with chemically modified soap base, and mass produced with other chemical ingredients. So before you purchase, make sure to read the ingredient clearly.
