Product Details

Tiger Balm (a Popular Asian product), Mentholatum, and Neosporin are made from the main ingredient - petroleum jelly,  the raw material byproduct from the petrochemical industry, and camphor, menthol, or antibiotics and antibacterials, etc. The common anti-allergy topical cream uses antihistamines, steroids, and other artificial ingredients to suppress allergy symptoms.

Long-term use of these creams may cause many side effects and drug dependence . It is particularly not suitable for children's tender skin.In fact, before the invention of antibiotics, our ancestors’ home medicines were taken from nature.  Not only were they very effective, but also completely without side effects. The most famous home medicine is the Chinese Arnebiae (Ziyun) ointment which was recorded as Moisture Cream in  "Surgical Authentic"  and as Myogenic Yuhong Ointment in “ Golden Mirror of Medicine” during the Ming Dynasty. Now it is widely known as Chinese Ziyun ointment.

We used  organic olive oil and camellia oil as the soaked oil base in addition to the traditional Chinese Ziyun ointment recipe. We soaked arnebiae and angelica in the cold-pressed virgin camellia oil and calendula in organic olive oil for over six months at  a low temperature. All the fatty acids and active ingredient were preserved and undamaged from the high heat.  We also have added organic castor oil, organic shea butter, arnebiae  and peppermint extract, natural vitamin E oil which are very beneficial to the skin.  Thus the effectiveness of our unique Herbal ResQ All Purpose Ointment is far beyond the common Arnebiae cream in the market for the treatments of insect bites, burns, wound infections, dry skin, allergic rash, acne, etc. It will also improve your skin's immune system and repair capabilities during the wound treatment. The effectiveness of all the  ingredients in Herbal ResQ All Purpose Ointment have been validated through clinical studies and research.  The following are the pharmacological effects of calendula, arnebiae and angelica:

Calendula: pharmacological effects are analgesic, antiseptic, anti-inflammatory, and for dermatological treatment. It contains a lot of lutein which is used as the nutritional eye protectant in the US. It also contains saponin and aromatic oil - often used to make cosmetics, can reduce inflammation and soothe the skin, can improve skin problems such as rashes and sunburn. It is also effective for neuritis, and toothache. It is also good for treating children diaper rash and other skin related problems.

Arnebiae root: a Chinese medicine with heat clearing and blood cooling effect. It is detoxifying and anti-inflammatory, similiar to the antibiotic but without side effects of antibiotics. This root promotes scar healing and skin regeneration. It treats and prevents eczema sores. Arnebiae is known for analgesic, anti-bleeding, anti-inflammatory and  anti-bacterial.  Good for treatments of skin rash, smallpox, dermatitis, eczema, skin injuries, etc.

Angelica: contains vitamin A, B12, E, essential amino acids and other nutrients. It can enhance metabolism and endocrine function. The ferulic acid it contains is angiogenesis. As the result of the  synergistic effects of arnebiae root and angelica, the effectiveness of anti-inflammatory, pus discharge, analgesic, reduced swelling, blood circulation, anti-stasis and wound healing is increased.

BACKGROUND STORY

As a child while growing up, whenever I had a mosquito bite, broken skin from falling down, burn or cuts, my mother would always used Little Nurse Mentholatum for my affected skin, accompanied with her warm motherly care, wounds soon ceased to be painful. I believe this is also many people’s growth story.Tiger balm (Taiwan well-known family panacea), Mentholatum, and Western popular Neosporin. are actually vaseline based, which is the by-product of the petrochemical industry. Other active ingredients are camphor, menthol, or antibiotics and antibacterials, etc. Because it is not a natural product, it is not suitable for young children's skin. Not recommended for regular use.

Nutrition consultant Jessica Chen, has been researching and developing products for the past many years in her own nutritional clinic. She has access to the highest-quality natural raw materials in Europe and America.  She also has a clear understanding of the process of product development and the quality of the ingredients. The development of the natural nutritional supplements has the most stringent quality standards. The development of skin care products has no exception. She has even personally set up a workshop using the most natural food grade ingredients and upholding the highest standard  to develop the following products: organic handmade soap, liquid hand soap, lip balm, natural lipstick, anti-allergy creams, organic lotion, beauty essence, etc.Over the last decade, organic products have been gaining the popularity worldwide. The market had been flooded with  “natural” creams. These products have now switched to the use of vegetable oil as the base for the creams. They also include raw herbal extracts. These types of organic products are inundated in the organic supermarkets and internet stores. However, the quality of these products can be inconsistent.

Jessica had discovered that a food additive - copper chlorophyll reported sizzlingly on the Taiwan News not long ago, was found in the natural creams of many big popular brands. The purpose of it is to make the product appears to be natural greenish, however, it is unnecessary.  This small glimpse of this discovery has made the spirit and the philosophy of natural product development questionable. The product Little Nurse Mentholatum--given by a mother to her child for the wound care is not the all purpose Chinese Ziyun ointment our ancestors used.  For her small inquisitive daughter, Jessica has specially developed skin care product “Herbal ResQ All Purpose Ointment”- the improved Chinese Ziyun ointment - with all the advantages but none its shortcomings. She used camellia oil as the base. Traditionally, the way of making the cream is to cook arnebiae root in  toasted sesame oil.  This has two drawbacks. First, the burnt sesame oil is mostly oxidized. Oxidized oil will age fragile skin fast. Second, sesame oil is very different now - it is mixed with artificial flavors and soybean oil. 100 percent pure sesame oil is difficult to find. For Herbal RezQ All Purpose Ointment, Jessica broke with tradition and used cold-pressed virgin camellia oil as the soaked base for arnebiae root and angelica for up to six months or more at the low temperature. Thus the  fatty acids and active ingredients are not destroyed due to high temperature. She also added skin useful ingredients such as organic castor oil, organic shea butter, arnebiae and peppermint extract, and natural vitamin E oil to the product.

Q&A

Q1. How to store Herbal ResQ All Purpose Ointment?
A:
Because the natural cold-pressed oils and precious herbs are easily oxidized, please store this product in the shade. Refrigeration is recommended for long time storage. High temperature (for example: in the vehicle or near the kitchen stove) will cause good oil to be oxidized and become rancid. Discard the product if it gives off bad odor or is expired.

Q2: What is the difference between Western comfrey cream and Herbal ResQ All Purpose Ointment?
A: Our Herbal ResQ All Purpose Ointment uses arnebiae (lithospermi) instead of comfrey which is in the western comfrey ointment. Both are purple herbal roots, but not the same. Arnebiae in Chinese Ziyun ointment is edible but western comfrey is not edible but for external use only. The appearances are also very different. Chinese arnebiae root after drying became dark purple, it makes the ointment dark red purplish and will stain the clothes easily if not handled carefully. However the comfrey in western comfrey ointment is gray-greenish powder, ointment made from it rendered brown. Chinese Arnebiae (Ziyun) ointment not only safe without side effects, but also good for skin repair and regeneration. The effectiveness is far greater than that of  western comfrey ointment.
